Bonding Application

Bonding application, which is one of the aesthetic dentistry applications, is applied in cases where the front teeth are decayed, broken, discolored or the surface is damaged. Composite materials developed in dentistry are used during bonding application. For a correct application, first of all, there must be sufficient conditions for bonding application. When alternative aesthetic dental treatment methods and bonding application are compared, it should be applied if the advantages are evident.

Aesthetic dental treatment with bonding, which is used in dental aesthetics and from time to time, is a method applied to close tooth gaps and obtain the ideal tooth form in the presence of small teeth.

We know that bonding application is made with composite material. This application is also called composite lamina application by taking the name from the material they are made of. Composite laminais a practical method applied to give an aesthetic appearance to the surface of the teeth and between them. It is a treatment method generally preferred for slightly curved teeth, teeth with notches on the surface or teeth showing discoloration. In composite lamina application, almost no abrasion is made from the surface of the tooth. The surface is lightly etching and then bonding is applied. The important thing for the success of the process is the correct use and quality of the materials. After surface abrasion or roughening, acid and then bond or single-stage acid-bonding is applied to the surface. After this process, the necessary space is created to hold the composite material to the tooth surface. Why is tooth bonding application (composite lamina) preferred?

• Bonding is preferred because it is a very fast and economical application.
• It is especially preferred for closing gaps between teeth or correcting tooth sizes or shapes.
• The fact that it is a treatment that can be completed in a single session increases the frequency and preference rate.
• After the bonding application, it is recommended to stay away from factors that pollute the surfaces of the teeth such as tea, coffee and cigarettes.
• It is recommended to use an electric toothbrush.
• Regular dental check-ups will be useful for the longevity of the bonding procedure.

It will be possible to use a well-made bonding application successfully in the mouth for years. However, you should know that when excessive forces come during use, that is, when hard objects such as hazelnut peanut shells are bitten, this application will carry the risk of fracture as much as the risk of fracture of your tooth.

Porcelain Lamina or bonding?

8. Porcelain laminates do not change color with time, but a black line at the gum edge is likely due to poor oral care.
