Dişler üzerinde meydana gelen kırık, çatlak, çürük ve çarpma gibi etkiler sonucunda diş üzerine kaplama yapılması ihtiyacı ortaya çıkabilir. Bunun yanı sıra dişlerin kırık olması veya diş sararmaları nedenIt may also be necessary to apply veneers on the teeth for aesthetic purposes.
Especially when it comes to the front teeth, it is desired that the dental veneer to be made looks natural. An artificial tooth image leaves a negative impression on the other person as well as disturbing the person. Generally, problems such as color difference and incompatibility of tooth forms with natural teeth are the first problems that come to the fore in poorly made dental veneers.
If it is not in good harmony with the gums, bruising and bleeding occurs in the gums. Many problems such as bleeding gums, bad breath and gingival recession also occur over time. Dental veneers are applied with different materials and techniques in dentistry. Your dentist will decide which dental crown is better for you. One of the most important things to know is that no matter what material is used, a well-made dental veneer will not cause health problems.
Types of dental veneers:
They are named according to the material used. According to their biological and physical properties, all types can be applied in the mouth today.
- Porcelain dental veneers with metal substructure
- Porcelain tooth crown with zirconium substructure
- Full ceramic empress dental crown
- Porcelain Laminate veneer dental crown
- Composite Laminate veneer dental crown
The more teeth missing, the longer the body length. More durability is required. For this reason, empress veneers are not preferred when there are missing teeth. If more than two teeth are missing, your dentist may recommend zirconium or metal-based porcelain veneers, depending on the extent of the existing chewing forces.
Porcelain veneers with metal substructure
In this method, which has been used for many years, an impression is taken after abrasion on the tooth. In the laboratory, wax is prepared for the metal infrastructure with the modeling technique on the impression and the metal infrastructure is prepared to adapt to the tooth with the induction method or CAD CAM technique. On the metal rehearsed in the mouth, the dental technician gives tooth form by applying the paste-like ceramic obtained with ceramic powder liquid mixture layer by layer with special brushes. The dentist adjusts the closure with the wish in the opposite jaw and when the aesthetic form is completed, the dentist checks the color and closure in the patient’s mouth. If there are necessary corrections, the dental veneer, which is completed and polished, is ready to be placed in the mouth.
This coating, which is aesthetically disadvantageous because it contains metal, can be preferred because its price is cheap and there is no durability problem. However, during the production phase, problems such as decay of the tooth under the veneer may occur in the long term due to the fact that the metal is not ideally compatible with the cut tooth in the mouth. In order to eliminate this problem, the induction casting technique was developed and then metal substructures prepared using the laser spraying method, which gives better results, were started to be used. No matter how well prepared, metal-containing dental crowns are not preferred by us due to the discoloration of the gingival margin and the need to cut more than the tooth to tolerate the material thickness.
Porcelain dental veneers with zirconium substructure:
It is the preferred type of dental coating to get aesthetically satisfying results. Some of its biggest advantages are that it reflects light like a natural tooth and does not cause discoloration and gingival recession at the gingival edge. At the same time, it is a type of dental coating that does not cause problems such as caries in the tooth under the coating due to its flawless harmony with the cut tooth.
As an application technique, zirconium dental veneers produced with computer-aided CAD CAM systems are successfully used both in veneers made on a single tooth and in dental bridges made in cases where one or more teeth are missing. Since the color of the material is the same as the tooth color in the mouth, it is not necessary to use a color-covering opaque layer as in metal veneers. Therefore, they can be applied with less scraping from the tooth to be coated. The problem of cold and hot sensitivity is minimized both for this reason and because the thermal conductivity coefficient of the material is lower than metal.
Zirconium dental veneers are bonded on the teeth with a special fixing cement after rehearsal. Zirconium-based ceramic veneers, which are also applied on implant applications, are the most preferred dental bridges and veneers today due to their biological compatibility.
Full ceramic empress dental crown
Porcelain dental veneers with metal substructure are insufficient to imitate the natural tooth, especially when front single tooth veneers are required. Different images are obtained under different light sources. No matter how skilled, experienced and knowledgeable the dental technician is, the desired result cannot be obtained with porcelains containing metal in the front single tooth veneers. Because of this need, full ceramic empress dental veneers have emerged with the idea of strengthening porcelain and using it without metal in single tooth veneers. Even when the ideal tooth is cut, the patient must use full ceramic empress dental veneers consciously and carefully. This application, which has the risk of fracture when it receives excessive force, is preferred when aesthetic teeth are needed.
Porcelain Laminate Veneer Dental Veneers:
We can also call it a half tooth coating applied to the front surface of the tooth. They are also known as leaf teeth or teeth like false nails. It is a sensitive coating method. Today, it is a frequently used method among aesthetic dentistry applications. Due to the difficulty in its application and material prices, its price is higher than zirconium dental veneers. Lamina tooth application transforms the color and shape of the teeth into the desired beautiful appearance.
No abrasion is performed on the palatal tongue side of the teeth. As little abrasion as possible is applied to the front and intermediate surfaces. Thanks to the porcelain lamina process applied to the tooth surface, tooth surface defects, yellowing, broken or cracked images, gaps between teeth can be completely corrected.
